Decorating Our Makariki Poem -

Rather than colouring our poem of the week, we chose to use technology to complete the same task!

We used google draw to paste in the poem, then search for pictures about Matariki and stars.

We had to work in pairs with a senior buddy.

We could change the background colour, font for the writing and move the pictures into position.

We hope you like the ones that are shared!

Howick Historic Village

Is that a light saber....oh no just an old school sunbeam!!!!
Parlour Games  - Fun for the whole community. Life before TV and iPads!

Toys from the past.

A Victorian School House...
What an intelligent bunch of children.

Flicks & ticks for our cursive handwriting on slate.

Then there were the outdoor games.

 Bobby Horses ...Giddy up!
Metal hoop game created by the local blacksmith.
 Stilts and blocks.

What a fun packed day - Oh the learning!!!
This is great! One of our Mum's went to Howick as a child and this is the picture. She returned for the first time since, with her daughter in Room 2.

KUMEU ART CENTRE - ROAD SHOW!

A fantastic event filled with oodles of doodles!

A wonderful opportunity to explore the basics of art interpretation and opinion.

We all started with a circle. It is mind-blowing, just how individualised and creative, every child and adult is!

Some of the artwork we saw at the traveling art roadshow.

We used our sketch books to select and draw the 3 most interesting images from parts of the gallery pieces.
